3 Times Conference Champs!

Down 18-33 with three matches left the Wildcats need at least 15 points via 2 pins and a decision to tie the score and send the outcome to the rule book criteria to determine the winner.

The first in line was Senior 145 Patrick Devlin who had a quick takedown and in a blur rolled his opponent to his back for a pin in under a minute.  24-33

Next came Sophomore 152 Eddie McGrail who took control with 3 takedowns and a couple of near falls before finally using an effect leg ride to force a pin. 30-33

In the final match Senior 160 Will Greene was in total control of the match and on his way to a major decision and an outright win for the Cats.  While working for more back points he was suddenly caught in a cradle and rolled thru his back several times before breaking the hold.  He then regrouped to score a reversal and held on for the decision to tie the score at 33-33.

Lake Norman took the win on Criteria E, most combined forfeits or falls.  Lake Norman had 4 falls to Mooresville's 3 making Lake Norman the 3X I-Meck Conference Champs!!

Earlier in the match Senior 182 Jonathan DiBernard and Junior 113 Cody Karns secured 2 of the decisive pins.  Junior 220 Jackson Dowless and Sophomore 120 RJ Cloninger took decision wins.
